About this template
A concept borrowed from electrical engineering, breadboards are low-fidelity prototypes that allow engineers to quickly test and iterate basic ideas before moving on to more costly mediums. In the context of product development, breadboards use simple rectangles and connectors to convey the most basic elements of features, encouraging product teams to focus on fundamental ideas and assumptions without getting distracted by implementation details.
This template gives you a starting point for making breadboards as defined in 37Signals' Shape Up methodology. Each column indicates a “place” or “view” in the app, and the rectangles beneath it indicate the functionality afforded by that view. This format allows you to quickly iterate ideas with your team as you figure out the right structure and scope for a feature.
