This template was inspired by Casey Winters’ Product Management Functional Strategy doc that he created to explain the function of the whole product organization to other leaders and teams.
Casey created that extremely detailed doc to help explain the function of the whole product organization to other leaders during a time of reorganization and growth. He recommends creating a similar doc anytime a new exec joins the team or there is company-wide reorganization.
We wanted to turn this artifact into a template because Casey did an excellent job of breaking down the overall strategy of the team he leads, as well as his mandate and areas of responsibility.
